Home → Québec → City La ville de Québec qc1.jpgThe city of Québec is also the capital city of the province of Québec! It was established in 1603 by the French explorer, Samuel de Champlain. Québec city has a lot of European style buildings as well as many restaurants are outdoor that you can eat outside during a beautiful weather. People who live there are very friendly and even those waiters/waitress standing outside by their own restaurants, they will say "Bonjour" or "Bonsoir" when you walk by them. The place is wonderful and gives you a lot of warm welcome to take a look around. The roads are bumpy because they are built with bricks instead of tar, the old histories are kept over 400 years. It has a lot of French histories and cultures from France that passes on in Québec city. Don't think that those people who lives in Québec are French, they really are not, they are French-Canadians, or Québécois. There are a lot of festivals in Québec such as concerts, street performances, fire tricks, dog tricks, mimes, and many more you will see them. Québec is the place that events are often hosted in all year round. qc9.jpg
Château Frontenac is the well-known luxury hotel in Québec, built in 1892 on rue des Carrières (Careers Road) right by the river, Rivère St-Laurent. Château is a French word for castle, so basically, it is a castle! This hotel also has a Canadian clothing store "Roots" underneath! This place is a must-see of Québec.

This city is one of my favourite places to go, the food was amazing and the place was very mellow. I love take a long walk around the cities, those people are very respectful and friendly. They were not like Americans. As I mentioned about taking a walk around the city, it has a long walkway from Château Frontenac to the historical site, My friends and I went there and took a walk there. It was fun relaxing by Château Frontenac. We did go in the building to take a look at the store but we never have gone in the hotel part. I am still sure that Château Frontenac was a nice hotel but it was crazily expensive! I checked the price for one room, one night - it was 400 dollars (CAD) a freaking night!!! I wouldn't dare myself to book a room in Château Frontenac! Overall, this city is a must for visit. Those photos below were taken by Matt, Sam, and me.
